Sara and Adam picked Token Creek as their engagement session location this summer, which happens to be one of my favorite natural areas around Madison to shoot. In fact, I've shot an engagement session in almost every season of the year at the park. Check out others here from Fall and Winter.
We wandered along the boardwalk that weaves through the forest by the creek just before sunset in early June looking for wildflowers and dappled sunlight, which we found in abundance. If you know anything about me or my work, you know I love a good patch of wildflowers in the summer for couples to look cute near.
I've been getting this question a lot lately: "Can we bring our dog to our engagement session?" and my answer is always a resounding: YES! Dogs are great and bring a ton of fun energy to any photo session. Sara and Adam brought their sweet dog Ivy along on our walk and she had fun rolling in the grass trying to escape those pesky summer mosquitoes. Hot tip for couples doing their engagement session in a forest in Wisconsin in the summer: bring bug spray!
There was a full moon tonight and I was able to use the ring of fire technique as the sun was getting low over the horizon to create the dreamy crescent moon-like images below. Check out photos from their dreamy summer forest engagement session at Token Creek County Park below.
