Just over the Wisconsin border in Rockton, Illinois is a hidden gem of a wedding venue: the Pavilion at Orchard Ridge. It was an exceptionally cold January day for Madeline and David's Pavilion at Orchard Ridge Wedding. Madeline and David had their early January winter wedding at this beautiful barn wedding venue in the countryside in northern Illinois. There was a dusting of snow on the ground. The bridesmaids got ready at the Copperstone Inn, a beautiful inn on the property of the wedding venue. The bridesmaids dresses were a lovely pale green. The bride and groom chose winter decorations such as pine boughs and pine cones and white florals to decorate the venue. The pine in the floral arrangements smelled amazing! They even folded their reception napkins in a fun shape: a pine tree!
The bride and groom wrote letters to each other to read after their first touch. They chose to do a first touch instead of a first look. The couple had their ceremony indoors in the beautiful barn in front of the beautiful fireplace. The bride's brother was the officiant and he played a prank on the bride by dressing up in a pope outfit when he entered for the wedding reception. Â Their vows were funny and emotional. The venue has windows that wrap around three sides of the barn that overlook a lovely pond and the countryside. There is a cute bridge over the pond with a willow tree in the background. The couple and their friends and family had a candlelit dinner followed by dancing.
